HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all, here and there, who are celebrating and sharing !

The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.

Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway —
Thanksgiving comes again!
Old Rhyme.

Wishing you a beautiful day !

Peace, Love, Good Health and Joy.

Thanks for your warm words, Kathy. Thanksgiving is not celebrated here as you do in the States but there is much to be grateful for every day, don’t you think so ? You are one person who knows how to express it in your blog.

Thank you for visiting, sonali. We do not celebrate Thanksgiving as such but we do have local “end of harvest” celebrations in different parts of Switzerland.
How about you in India ?

I love the seasons and the cycle of the year, and still remember the intense, quiet pleasure my grandparents took in their stocked cellars and pantries after the harvest was “safely gathered in”.

Your verse captures the feeling so well – and indeed, it was a lovely day here, sharing some of life’s bounty with friends. I hope your season is bountiful, too, and that we all will move into winter safe and secure!

Our Season has been bountiful indeed Linda and we realise our luck when so many people all over the world are struggling to reach a subsistence level. Much gratitude indeed even if we do not show it on a day like yours.

Stocked cellars and pantries were the pride of my “mountain” grandparents at this Season. The joy they had when they could share their products with us !

    Hi Isabelle,
Such a lovely, quiet day here with family and good food.
Your words and pictures are beautiful as always. Wishing you an abundant, cozy, peaceful Fall xoxo ❤

Hi Marie, so nice to hear you enjoyed a quiet day with the family around a table with good food ! Our days are typical of this Season, foggy in the morning then mild and sunny (sometimes) in the afternoon. Fall is losing its colours and forest paths are covered with leaves. What a delight to walk through this thick natural carpet !

How lovely to see a Thanksgiving blog post from Switzerland. Merci Isa!

Hello Karen, I just had to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving because I know all this celebration means for you in the US. I imagine all the goodies you prepared and the joy around the table. Maybe you posted something about it ? Merci de ta visite aussi.

I love your photos Isa. They are so beautiful and I had no idea that you also celebrated Thanksgiving.

    • Isabelle said

Merci Tammy. As I wrote above, we do not celebrate Thanksgiving as such over here but we do have special local celebrations at the end of harvests. Big and tasty meals that vary according to the different states and that reunite all the extended family. A lot of fun and much pleasure to be all together again.

Bon dimanche.

We do not celebrate Thanksgiving in Denmark – but thanks for a lovely collage and lovely words. I send you all my best wishes and thoughts. And Happy Thanksgiving – if you celebrate this in Switzerland!

    • Thanks Truels, we do not celebrate Thanksgiving here either but I felt like sharing this mosaic with my American friends. Pictures of our own harvests around here. Apples come from our garden though. Boscop, delicous.

  9. Thank you for being so thoughtful in wishing americans a happy thanksgiving. Personally, I am thankful and grateful to live in a free and abundant country and to have access to so much that so many in the world can only envision in their dreams.

    • Hello Yvonne and thank you for your warm words which I fully share. Free, peaceful, abundant country, school for every kid, healthcare and so much more we have and we should be thankful for every single day.

  10. Beautiful thoughts Isa and beautiful photograph. Visiting after over an year? Must be…but thread of life always brings us together. Happy Thanksgiving!
