light and lines

July 16, 2010

Or when the  sun   plays with lines and textures at sunset. Illusion. Another view of things we imagine static.

A curtain starts moving in waves although there was no breeze inside the living room…

Wooden walls and wallpaper caught the same reflections from the sun through the roller blinds. Quite intriguing !

I love to see light comming through blinds or similar, it makes a very lively image on the wall if there is just a bit windy. Outside some of my windows are trees and bushes, taking part in the shadow making, it´s very beautiful to see. It is a living artwork. Your pictures are very fine, Isa, and I was glad to see that you find this kind of light and shadow beautiful, too.

    • Hello giiid ! I thought you might like this experience of light and shadows. It was so special, I just had to take a pic. My favourite time to take pictures is in the late afternoon, shapes take a different look and subtle colours. I am very happy you like this, you are an inspiration to me in this sort of photography. Thank you.

    Well seen and shot Isabella.
You have caught the waves of light in the curtain. It is easy to imagine how the waves travel and catches the viewers attention. (For the people that can “see”)
I like Giiids expression “living artwork”.
Who can find an appropriate expression for tagging this kind of images? It would be fun if we could tag and search for things like this.

    • Thanks for the compliment, Carsten :)There are quite a few things around us that need more attention sometimes. Yes, living artwork is a beautiful expression. I tried to find the right tags, without much success when I checked : optical illusion ? perception ? I will investigate further 😉 And no problem about my name, Isabella would be for my Swiss-Italian origins.

Fabulous photos…I love to see the play of light
in a room…hard to catch with a camera unless you
know what you are doing…and you know what you are doing 🙂

    • Thank you Marie 🙂 you know, I did not think twice as I took those pictures. The shadows did not last long, I just grabbed my camera, tried to find the right angle and “clic” ! I was surprised myself at the result… Glad you enjoyed these images.

  5. The first one is my favorite with the hard lines of the blind and the soft edge of the curtain – both transparent in their own way.

The first night I saw this post I kept playing with the scroll bar, moving the images up and down, watching them shift perspective. I had so much fun playing that I wandered off without saying how much I enjoyed it! Thank you.

  7. 🙂 nice to come back, Gerry ! I hope you did not get dizzy ?? Maybe “perspective” could be the tag Carsten and I were looking for this type of picture ?

You make these lines and light very impressive and lively – so I nearly feel that I AM there in the room looking… – – not many pictures are able to do that!
